RE: Need campsite commuting distance to Fords, NJ

About the closest you will get to Fords is Jackson, NJ. As I recall there are 2 CG near the Parkway that would be the easiest drive to Fords. There are a few parks but no hookups.

RE: Back-Up Camera Reversed

The BU camera in my old coach had a push button switch on it. Depress the switch and the image would reverse.

RE: The pull through that wasn't!

When your aventa binds have an assistant get into the car, Start the car keep foot on brake put car in gear and slightly release brake while you depress release levers. Try forward or reverse what ever works, once the levers are released the pins can be removed. I have never had to use a hammer and drive pin to release the tow bar in the 10 years that I have used one.

RE: NORAD

A few years ago we were lucky enough to get a tour of Cheyenne Mt. It can be done if you have a connection. If you know some one that works there that could help.

RE: Suggestions for Mt Rushmore and badlands area.....

When we were at Mt Rushmore we stayed at Rushmore Shadows. In the Badlands we stayed in the National Park, no hookups but the sunrise is beautiful. I would highly recommend visiting the Minuteman Missile Museum National Historic site. Check it out here http://www.nps.gov/mimi/

RE: Recommended Park in Moab

We were in Arch View a few weeks ago. The park was good but we were hardly there, we were busy sightseeing. Arches NP is 7 miles down the road. Canyon Land NP is 27 miles east of the park and it is about 80 miles to Needles NP. Beautiful and different views at each of the National Parks.
Moab was about 11 miles from Arch View Resort.

RE: How to get Your RV Shipped Up to the Canadian Border?

Maybe the best way to utilize your time, would be to fly to Anchorage and rent an rv then fly home. Might be cheaper and give you more time for the sights.

RE: RGV this winter

Cliff
I have a lot next door at Green Gate, I've talked to many people who have stayed BG and really like it. The only thing that I have 1st hand experience with is their shuffleboard. GG and Bentsen Grove play each other once a week, 1 week at GG the next at BG. If you like shuffleboard they have many courts and a lot of nice people that play. See you there.

RE: Brownsville, Texas Question

We spent Jan, Feb & Mar in Brownsville in 07. I think that you will find the humidity is variable like most coastal areas. I was told Jan 07 was was unusual, it was cool & misty a big percentage of the month. In my opinion I didn't find humidity a problem. I rode my bike 15 or 20 miles most days and didn't find it very uncomfortable.

RE: campgrounds close to downtown new york

I never stayed at LH but it is just across the river from the city. You can take a water taxi from near the park to the city. I've heard from many people who stayed there, it's only a parking lot with hookups but it is convenient.

RE: Fresh water tank empties it self.

Install a reducer fitting in the overflow line just around the top of the tank. Put the larger side of the fitting on the downstream side when the overflow reaches the expansion (reducer)fitting the siphon will break. You will also need a length of larger tubing.

RE: Bear Paw or Eagle's Rest??

We stayed at the Sea Otter facing the small boat inlet and looking across the sound to the pipeline terminal. This was in 2005, maybe it is no longer there.

RE: sewer smell HELP

Forget about the smell of the tank! The problem is that the smell is getting into the RV and it should not. Most likely as mentioned are the anti siohon valves/vacuum breakers. If the coach happens to be plumbed for a washer even if you don't have a washer there will be a trap that may be dry. Some toilets have an overflow that is at the top of the bowl, that dries out. Try filling the toilet to the top wait a few minutes then flush, that should fill that trap if it is dry.
Do you happen to have a roof vent near where the tank vent comes through the roof? You could be getting fumes in that way.
Good luck

RE: NASCAR advice needed

Wife & I worked there each race for 3 years. Be sure to bring rain gear. Most races there get some amount of rain. Bring your food and drink in a smaller cooler (I don't remember the size restriction) but you should be able to find that info or in your ticket package, no glass. Food & drink is were expensive when I was there the last time in 2003, Be sure to get there early, (a few hours) traffic is pretty slow race day. For an extra $30 for the weekend you can get into the pits & paddock area when the pits aren't hot. Plan on staying for an hour or 2 after the race to let traffic die down some. If you are going east on I 80 you will hit a lot more traffic where 380 joins 80. All weekenders heading east from the mountains.
Have fun
